camp site, very large water tank, NO fires
The area was known as the race course, because local lads secretly trained their horses here for the picnic races.

  1. When I visited on July 1st 2007, there was no visible way (that I could see) to get water out of the HUUUUUGE tank. Recommend going to the nearby Gray’s Hut which is very fancy.

  2. Visited camp and tank on 12/5/15. Plenty of water, looks like a fire water tank. has a large 2-3 inch outlet with 1/4turn tap, to get water you will need to unscrew cap first…. This outlet is basically at ground level. Tank is actually marked on wrong side of creek and N/S track on maps 3.1 and 3.2 should be to the west 100m or so. Also you’ll find a track extension of Grave track to Mungola Hut Track just west of actual tank. Heysen trail also follows Mungola Hut track instead of going cross country as marked on maps east of campsite.
