Mount Crawford Stair Rehabilitation

Thu 8 Nov 2018

Details

Walk name/location
Mount Crawford Stair Rehabilitation
Description

One of the early trail development projects on the trail was the installation in 1994 of a set of ‘perma pine log' stairs on the northern descent of Mt Crawford. This gave us one of the highlight vistas of the trail.

Unfortunately a few years ago it was deemed unsafe. As a result the trail was rerouted away from the summit of the mountain.

The Trail is now back over Mount Crawford, however this project aims to rehabilitate and repair where necessary with the installation of mesh treads between the logs.

The work isn't particularly difficult but we require a team of about 8 volunteers to assist on the day.
