AGM 2011 – handing over the reins

The 24th AGM of the Friends took place at the Woodville Lawn Bowls Club tonight, 25th March 2011.
A good attendance heard Simon Cameron, outgoing president, outline the achievements of 2010 including the purchase by the Friends of 10 water tank/shelters for placement along the Trail. He thanked the executive and council for their support over the past 4 years and handed over the reins to the capable hands of Robert Alcock.
The members heard from John Wilson, treasurer, the enviable financial position of the Friends and from Colin Edwards, Maintenance Committee Chairman the state of the Trail.
At the conclusion of the meeting, members were entertained by Volker Scholz, head ranger Deep Creek Conservation Park, about track development in the third world. He had just completed nearly two years working on the Kokoda Track with the Kokoda Track Authority.
