The 22nd AGM of the Friends of the Heysen Trail took place last night, Friday 27th March.
Well attended by members, with 60 turning up, to hear how the association had fared over the past 12 months. President, Simon Cameron, detailed the achievments for 2008 and the plans for 2009, including the purchase of a number of modular tanks for installation along the Trail. Treasurer, John Wilson, outlined our very comfortable financial position.
New members were welcomed to council, Bob Gentle, Janette Clarke, Nick Langsford. Retiring members David Beaton and Jim Alvey were farewelled. Two new Honorary members, Frances & Terry Gasson were inducted by our patron C Warren Bonython.
Simon thanked council, volunteers and members for their support to the association over the past 12 months. John Stephens, Executice Director of Operation Flinders, gave a very informative and enjoyable outline of the work of his organisation. The evening wrapped up with a catching up of Friends and an informal supper.
Thanks to Woodville Lawn Bowling Club for providing the venue.
