They have a walking time of about 5 to 7 hours and will require a good degree of physical fitness.\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. SUMMARY:Cobbler to Tappanappa - E2E17
DESCRIPTION:Although relatively short\, this section of the trail offers spectacular scenery as you walk along narrow single file tracks through the dense native scrub. Several steep and slippery sections over rocks are present as you frequently make your way down to\, and up from gullies and creeks and past a waterfall within Deep Creek National Park.\n\nFitness: The Heysen Trail walks are demanding and suitable for experienced walkers who have walked regularly in various terrain consisting of long-distance trails with some steep inclines/declines\, irregular surface with loose uneven\, slippery base. SUMMARY:Tugwell Rd to Inman Valley - E2E17
DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately\, due to ongoing road works at Tappanappa\, and the deterioration of Tunk Head Rd leading into Balquhidder\, we will walk from Tugwell Rd through to Inman Valley.\n\nThis section follows country roads\, farm paddock fencelines\, forest trails and road reserves. Native orchids\, grass trees\, abundant birdlife and classic Fleurieu farmland views make this a pleasant walk to remember.\n\nFitness: The Heysen Trail walks are demanding and suitable for experienced walkers who have walked regularly in various terrain consisting of long-distance trails with some steep inclines/declines\, irregular surface with loose uneven\, slippery base. SUMMARY:Waitpinga to Tugwell Rd - E2E17
DESCRIPTION:One of the most spectacular sections of the Trail. Walkers follow sandy tracks through the coastal scrub of Newland Head Conservation Park\, and will have dramatic clifftop views towards Victor Harbor.\n\nHere whales have been sighted\, as well as seals\, dolphins and the endangered white bellied sea eagle. At Kings Beach the Trail leaves the coast following roads and an uncleared road reserve to begin the long journey northward inland.\n\nFitness: The Heysen Trail walks are demanding and suitable for experienced walkers who have walked regularly in various terrain consisting of long-distance trails with some steep inclines/declines\, irregular surface with loose uneven\, slippery base. SUMMARY:Balquhidder to Waitpinga - E2E17
DESCRIPTION:NOTE:  The location of this walk has been changed due to road works still underway on Tappanappa Ridge Road. It is unsure if the road works will conclude\, and be suitable for our next walk. There is uncertainty if adequate parking spaces will be available or if the bus can manoeuvre safely.\n\nInstead of walking from Cobbler Hill to Tappanappa as planned\, we will walk from Balquhidder to Waitpinga.\n\nThis walk entails some road walking\, picturesque farmland\, several unspoilt sandy beaches\, creek crossings\, rocky headlands and hopefully the chance to spot whales or dolphins over our right shoulder.

SUMMARY:E2E17 - Cape Jervis to Cobbler Hill
DESCRIPTION:This is the first walk for the new End to End 17 group. \nAfter you register for this walk you will receive an email inviting you to attend one of two introductory walks to be held before this walk.\nThe introductory walks will give you a chance to assess your fitness and to raise any queries you might have before you embark on the Heysen Trail.\nThose people who successfully register for this walk will also be given priority access to register for the subsequent E2E17 walks\, and an invitation to attend an information night at Exurbia.\n\nCommencing at Cape Jervis\, the coastal scenery along this region of the Fleurieu Peninsula is spectacular\, and is a lovely walk along the first section of the Heysen Trail. The trail begins with a meander along sandy coastal tracks and exposed hillsides\, with views of Kangaroo Island and the Southern Ocean over your right shoulder. On occasions\, walkers are often rewarded with sightings of seals & dolphins. The trail progressively develops several undulations further along as you approach Blow Hole Beach within the Deep Creek Conservation Park. The walk ends with a much-anticipated hill climb for approx. 2km through native vegetation back to the vehicles.\n\nA bus will transport us from the vehicles to the start of the walk.\n\nPlease note: the bus does NOT transport walkers from Adelaide to the walk.\n\nAfter registration\, walkers will be given directions to drive their vehicle to the meeting point\, which will be at the END point of the day’s walk. The cars remain at the meeting location\, and the bus transports the group from the cars to the walk start point. From there\, the group walks back to the cars.\n\nTo participate in this walk\, you need to pay for the bus whether you’re using it or not .\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.
