SUMMARY:E2E18 Cudlee Creek - Nuggett Rd (Walk 15)
DESCRIPTION:The trail leads walkers through the rolling hills of the South Mt Lofty Ranges and sections of Mt Crawford Forest. The climb towards Mt Gould provides outstanding views.\n\nThis walk has significant road crossings and road walking. Follow Leaders instructions.\n\nThe Union Bridge in Cudlee Creek is arguably the most dangerous crossing of the entire trail.\n\nWalk Difficulty – The Heysen Trail walks are demanding and suitable for experienced walkers who have walked regularly in various terrain consisting of long-distance trails with some steep inclines/declines\, irregular surface with loose uneven\, slippery base. They have a walking time of about 5 to 7 hours and will require a good degree of physical fitness.\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.

DESCRIPTION:This section combines several sections of Mt Crawford pine forest with the natural bushland of Warren Conservation Park and Little Mt Crawford to provide a picturesque and diverse walk.\n\nThis walk begins with a short walk-in (1.2km) from the bus drop off before passing through a small section of native bushland. After a few km. of road walking the trail enters the spectacular Warren Conservation Park\, climbing steadily through dense bushland. Open grazing land with panoramic views follows\, before heading back into the Mount Crawford forest then along a beautifully constructed boardwalk before crossing Warren Rd and into more scrubland over Little Mount Crawford.\n\nWalk Difficulty – The Heysen Trail walks are demanding and suitable for experienced walkers who have walked regularly in various terrain consisting of long-distance trails with some steep inclines/declines\, irregular surface with loose uneven\, slippery base. DESCRIPTION:Walk Details: (Walk19)\n\nSaturday 25th :Tanunda to Kapunda – 25km\n\nThis section takes walkers along back roads and road reserves past vineyards and wineries of the Barossa Valley\, through the small town of Greenock and into the cropping and grazing land of the Lower North. It is a long but mainly flat walk with only a few undulations. Pleasant vistas and changing seasonal colours make this a pretty walk\, with a finish at Kapunda in easy walking distance to bakeries or pubs.\n\nWalk Details: (Walk 20)\n\nSunday 26th :Kapunda to Hamilton – 24 km\n\nFrom Kapunda we head northwest along backroads and tracks to Black Joes Road\, then mainly north along fence lines and tracks to the old telephone exchange at the crossroads. The walk is over undulating mainly open country of the lower North Mount Lofty Ranges.\n\nWalk Difficulty – The Heysen Trail walks are demanding and suitable for experienced walkers who have walked regularly in various terrain consisting of long-distance trails with some steep inclines/declines\, irregular surface with loose uneven\, slippery base. The on-line registration\n\nsystem will only allow you to register for both days.”\n\nSpecial Note: These walks are being done out of order\n\nSaturdays Walk Details: Webb Gap to Burra Road – 23km\n\nThe trail continues along the Tothill Range\, providing expansive views over the surrounding farmland and Apoinga Lagoon. A sharp climb after Huppatz Hut provides walkers with a taste of things to come in future walks.\n\nSunday’s Walk Details:\n\nGerkie Gap-Webb Gap  – 18km\n\nAfter a climb through Gerkie Gap to the eastern side\, this hugs the Tothill Ranges\, before climbing back over the range\, just north of Smith Hill\, where we continue the journey northward through open scrubland along the western flank of the range.\n\nThe Tothills provide the largest remaining section of remnant scrub in the area and are one of the delights of the Mid-North providing pleasant vistas over the surrounding farmland\, with constant reminders of 19th century optimism and 21st century technology.\n\n \n\nWalk Difficulty – The Heysen Trail walks are demanding and suitable for experienced walkers who have walked regularly in various terrain consisting of long-distance trails with some steep inclines/declines\, irregular surface with loose uneven\, slippery base.
