SUMMARY:EE19 Nugget Rd-Mt Crawford-Pewsey Vale
DESCRIPTION:NOTE: If you wish to walk on only one day\, please contact the FOHT office (once registration has opened) to register for that day’s walk. The on-line registration system will only allow you to register for both days.\n\nSaturday 15th August: Walk 16 The Nugget Rd to Mt Crawford (25km)\n\nOn this picturesque and varied walk you’ll pass through several sections of Mount Crawford pine forest and the natural bushland of Warren Conservation Park and Little Mount Crawford.\n\nSunday 16th August: Walk 17 Mt Crawford to Pewsey Vale (21km)\n\nAfter climbing Mount Crawford you’ll follow forest edges and roadsides before making your way up and over the pretty Wirra Wirra Peaks. From the Peaks you’ll take a diverse path along creek lines\, roads and road reserves through open big-gum grazing land.\n\nBoth of these walks are of moderate-hard difficulty\, with undulations and several 100+m elevation climbs and descents on both days. Sunday’s walk is shorter\, so we should finish earlier.\n\nWalk Difficulty – The Heysen Trail walks are demanding and suitable for experienced walkers who have walked regularly in various terrain consisting of long-distance trails with some steep inclines/declines\, irregular surface with loose uneven\, slippery base. They have a walking time of about 5 to 7 hours and will require a good degree of physical fitness.\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.
