SUMMARY:Clare Valley Wine and Wilderness Trail
DESCRIPTION:The Clare Wine and Wilderness Trail was completed in 2023 and is a 100km tail around the Clare Valley\, traveling on a network of backroads\, road reserves & private property. It is graded as a moderate hiking trail comprising of 6 stages.\n\nWe will be walking during bud-burst so we will see the vines awakening from their winter dormancy.\n\nPlease note only registrations for the whole week will be accepted.\n\nIncluded in Bus Fee\n\nThis packaged extended walk includes 6 bus fares\, welcome drinks and nibbles (6 walk fees are included in the bus fee so Golden Boots is not applicable)\n\nAccommodation\n\nParticipants will need to book their own accommodation.\n\nWalkers wishing to participate in wine tastings after each day’s walk do so at their personal cost and risk.\n\nSaturday Evening Dinner\n\nThe final celebration dinner to be held on Saturday night 6th September\, is at the cost of the walkers. Non walking partners are welcome to attend the final dinner. Please indicate additional numbers in the “include a note” section of the registration form.\n\nOverview of the week.\n\nSaturday Aug 29          Welcome Gathering TBA\n\nArrive in Clare and check into your accommodation meet your fellow walkers at a welcome gathering.\n\nSunday Aug 30            Stage 2 Armagh to Spring Gully 19 kms\n\nMonday Sept 1            Stage 3 Spring Gully to Leasingham  13.5 kms\n\nTuesday Sept 2           Stage 1 Clare to Armagh 23 kms\n\nWednesday Sept 3      REST DAY\n\nThursday Sept 4           Stage 4 Leasingham to Auburn 14kms\n\nFriday Sept 5                 Stage 5 Auburn to Sevenhill 18 kms\n\nSaturday Sept 6            Stage 6 Sevenhill to Clare 14 kms\n\nThe walks end at wineries\, walkers wishing to participate in wine tastings after each day’s walk do so at their personal cost and risk.\n\nWalkers should have solid fitness levels and clothing suitable for changeable weather\, plenty of water\, provide your own lunch and snacks and carry personal first aid/medication / blister packs etc.\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.
