Council is undertaking consultation with committees and members to help build a framework for the next 35 years.\n\nInterested members are invited to an information session that will outline key proposals\, answer questions and obtain feedback from members.  A draft document will be provided to attendees.\n\nWhy?  The Constitution outlines the rules for how the Friends manages the finances\, policies and priorities for our activities: walks program\, trail development\, office and promotion.  Council members think it is a good opportunity to revitalise how we manage the Friends and encourage newer members to become more involved.\n\nCouncil will consider any feedback and issues raised before seeking legal advice on the provisions and any formal process.  The current Constitution requires that proposed changes be presented at a special Meeting of Members or Annual General Meeting.

DESCRIPTION:Friends of Heysen Trail Annual General Meeting 2020- Rescheduled from March\n\nNow that Covid 19 restrictions have eased the Friends is able to convene its postponed AGM.\n\nMeeting will commence 6.30pm at Woodville Bowls Club.\n\n 	President Report on 2019\n 	Treasurer Report for 2019\n 	Election of Council Members – nominations were called for and received in March\n 	Approval of Auditor for 2020/2021\n 	Nomination of Honorary Members.\n\nMembers are asked to register in advance as numbers may still need to be limited to appropriate space requirements as defined by SA Health at that time.  Safe hygiene and social distancing will be in place. Please note socialising after the formal meeting will not occur this year.  Current Covid restrictions for community groups prohibit sharing of food so members should not “bring a plate” like previous years.

DESCRIPTION:The 32nd Annual General Meeting of the Friends of the Heysen Trail and Other Walking Trails Inc. will be held at 7.30 pm on Friday March 22nd 2019. The venue will be the Woodville Lawn Bowling Club\, Oval Avenue\, Woodville.\n\nNominations are sought from you\, our members\, for election to the Friends Council at the AGM\, for positions including Vice President\, Secretary\, Treasurer and half the remaining members. SUMMARY:Hiking Expo\, Opening of the Bushwalking Season
DESCRIPTION:An expo to celebrate the start of the South Australian bushwalking season. With the arrival of cooler autumn weather\, hiking is an ideal outdoor activity. South Australia’s bushwalking clubs and Walking SA are coming together to celebrate the occasion with a unique day in Belair National Park. Expo of walking tours\, walking destinations\, outdoor retailers\, walking clubs\, free entry.Guided hikes ranging from 45mins to 3 hours\, including child-friendly and Accessible options. Walks will depart every 10 minutes from 9:30am to 1pm.You can secure a place on a specific guided walk by registering online from Monday 19th March\, or just arrive on the day and choose a guided walk to join.The Friends are hosting 10 of the guided walks\, and two Extended Walks from further afield into the expo site: 8am: Cemetery\, Barr St Mitcham to Gums Oval10am: Colebrook Reconciliation Park to Gums OvalFind out more at walkingsa.org.au/expo

SUMMARY:The Red Moon -Total eclipse of the moon
DESCRIPTION:Tonight is a total eclipse of the moon in and well worth celebrating with friends. The sun sets at 8:23pm and the moon rises at 8:11. It is a blue moon! At 10:18 the moon is getting red as the partial eclipse is happening. At 1121 the total eclipse begins and it reaches  maximum at 1159….So that’s the technical bit.\n\nI suggest we meet for a meal and or drinks at our own expense at a seaside hotel around 8pm and watch the sunset. Then have a beach wander in the light of the full moon before heading up the hill away from the street lights to watch at least some of the eclipse. Bring chairs\, warm clothes\, binoculars and a good yarn or two. We will have the cars nearby so people can leave at anytime they like. Bring a torch so you in case you need it but by then our eyes will be well adjusted to the dark.
