SUMMARY:Kersbrook
DESCRIPTION:This walk is in a section of Mount Crawford Forest referred to as “Old Kersbrook”. We will be walking mainly along wide open fire tracks through native forest and pine plantations. Along the way there will also be good views over the surrounding farm land. There are several hilly sections\, but extra time has been allowed so each walker can climb these at their own pace. The walk will be approx. 10km with a stop for morning tea. Lunch can be at a location only a short walk back to the cars and will be optional. \nTo reach the meeting point there is a small section of gravel road.

DESCRIPTION:A walk in the eastern section of Onkaparinga River National Park\, combining several trails to create a longer walk of around 3 hours. DESCRIPTION:Nestled amongst the Barossa Ranges\, Kaiserstuhl Conservation Park is visited by Heysen Trail walkers and includes several other trails. \nIt rewards walkers with panoramic views\, fascinating rock formations and a range of native plants and animals. \nOur moderate grade walk will will follow the Stringybark & Wallowa tracks and a small section of the Heysen Trail. It passes through a variety of landscapes including creeks\, rocky outcrops\, areas of low forest\, scrub and open grassland. It will include panoramic views across the ranges to the Barossa Valley.

DESCRIPTION:The walk commences from the oldest timber plantation in the Mount Lofty Ranges\, planted in 1898\, and meanders through a very small section of Kuitpo Forest. Walking mainly on open tracks the landscape is a mixture of forest\, native vegetation and farmland. A gentle walk with no major hills. \n  \nPLEASE NOTE  Due to the recent rainfall some sections may be slippery and you will most likely get wet boots walking through several water ways.

SUMMARY:Microcarpa/ Waterfall Belair National Park
DESCRIPTION:The walk starts by walking around Playford Lake and we can do some turtle and duck spotting along the way. Then we walk through one of the most diverse and best-preserved woodland areas remaining in the Mount Lofty Ranges. Grey box woodland (Eucalyptus microcarpa) is an endangered ecosystem. Once common across Adelaide\, clearing has reduced it to remnants in the Adelaide Hills. We continue on the waterfall loop through Echo Tunnel to the picturesque rock escarpments of the Upper and Lower Waterfalls which is the most challenging trail in the park.Hopefully the falls will be running. \nBring plenty of water\, morning tea\, a torch/ head lamp (or at least a fully charged mobile phone to use as a torch) for the tunnel. \nNote: members must not attend if unwell and this means ANY little sniffle\, cough etc. See Risks – Hazards & Requirements below for details

SUMMARY:Mt Lofty Heysen Trail loop
DESCRIPTION:A loop walk on the Heysen Trail taking in the Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens\, the winding fire tracks of Cleland Conservation Park\, and the summit of Mt Lofty. \nFrom our meeting point we walk north west on the main Heysen Trail route towards Mt Lofty. This section of the walk is a bit challenging as we climb St. Michael Hill. But the reward is an morning tea at the Mount Lofty Summit cafe as we admire panoramic views over Piccadilly Valley and Adelaide City. \nBYO morning tea or pick up a coffee at the cafe. \nWe then take the Heysen Trail alternative route to the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden upper car park.  After meandering through the garden\, enjoy its tranquillity\, and return to the cars.

SUMMARY:Sturt Gorge
DESCRIPTION:A walk on the trails at the western end of the Sturt Gorge Recreation Park. We will walk through a lovely grove of almond blossom to get into the steep sided gorge. We may make several river crossings on stepping stones depending on the conditions. \nThe trail is slippery underfoot and good-grip boots and poles are strongly recommended. There is a few metres of slightly tricky rock scramble at one point but the rest is easy enough. \nStart time 9am sharp. The meeting point is tricky to get to now with the South Road upgrade so I suggest you aim to be there at 830am to allow for mistakes. Walk approx 3hr. \nBring water\, snacks and rain jacket.

DESCRIPTION:The Wine Shanty Hike is a 10km loop bushwalk through the eastern section of Cleland Conservation Park. \nWe will walk through Stringybark forest along sections of the Heysen and Yurrebilla Trails. Shortly after the start\, we pass  Keirs Ruin\, an old farm house abandoned in the 1900s. \nThe walk combines some steep climbs with gentler sections – we will do it in the direction that best suits a Trail Starter. \nMorning tea will be a short diversion to the cafe (and facilities) at the Cleland Wildlife Park. \n

SUMMARY:Lobethal Bushland Walk.
DESCRIPTION:Pleasant circular walk in Lobethal Bushland Park just outside of Lobethal. The trails in the park were through heritage-listed bush but the park was burnt out in the December 2019 Adelaide Hills bush fire. Through the care of passionate volunteers\, the park has been remarked and is showing signs of incredible regrowth. There are also exciting signs that kangaroos\, echidnas and bird life are returning. We will walk through trails which have been burnt\, but there are wonderful signs of regrowth on some of the trees and also the undergrowth. Slopes are mostly gradual. A good walk for new walkers and families\, with toilets and a picnic area on completion.

DESCRIPTION:This walk is a little different insofar that you must book our walk first\, then contact Zoos.SA to purchase your ticket into the park..\nWe are opening bookings early to ensure you get an entry ticket to the park.\nThe walk itself is an easy 9-10klms\, mostly on flat ground tracks. \nBookings at the Wildlife Park\, Sunday the 27th of September\, open the same day as our registration opens.\nCopy the following link into your browser to book your admission. You will be able to claim any concession/membership that applies to you.: \nTickets \n \nI ask then that you then forward your Zoos ticket number to me.\nMy details will be in the meeting point information . \nWe will walk the loop through the 5000 acres of scrub they have.\nFrom which there are connecting tracks to the viewing spots.\nI recommend you bring a good camera / small binoculars.\nAlso water \, snack and sunscreen. \nAs it is a loop walk\, my plan is to be back at the information office/canteen for lunch about 12.30pm Sunday the 27th of September.\nThis will allow you then to take advantage of the included bus services that the park offers.\nThose busses leave from 1.15pm

SUMMARY:After Xmas Recovery
DESCRIPTION:A pleasant loop walk in the generally less trafficked southeastern section of Cleland Conservation Park starting from Measday Lookout to work off a few of our Xmas excesses. Will include a couple of climbs; one long\, one steep & one relatively gentle before returning back along the Pioneer Womens Trail to the cars. There will only be a single break for morning tea after completing the climbs.
