SUMMARY:Cleland - Wine Shanty Hike
DESCRIPTION:The Wine Shanty Hike is a 10km loop bushwalk through the eastern section of Cleland Conservation Park. \nWe will walk through Stringybark forest along sections of the Heysen and Yurrebilla Trails. Shortly after the start\, we pass  Keirs Ruin\, an old farm house abandoned in the 1900s. \nThe walk combines some steep climbs with gentler sections – we will do it in the direction that best suits a Trail Starter. \nMorning tea will be a short diversion to the cafe (and facilities) at the Cleland Wildlife Park. \n

DESCRIPTION:This pilgrimage walk follows the Heysen Spur from Bridgewater to The Cedars along roads\, bushland\, gentle hills\, crosses the Adelaide main railway line & has views to rural properties of the Adelaide Hills. A leisurely BYO morning tea will be at The Cedars\, family property of Hans Heysen. There will be $5 fee to enter the property. We will then return via the same route.

DESCRIPTION:A lovely walk taking in sections of Old Kersbrook Forest and the Blue Gum and Mack Creek tracks of Para Wirra Conservation Park. \nThe walk follows a range of trails – including well made fire tracks\, shared trails and a narrower\, more secluded track along Mack Creek. \nThe terrain is reasonably flat although there is a gentle descent into and ascent out of the creek. SUMMARY:Lobethal Bushland Walk.
DESCRIPTION:Pleasant circular walk in Lobethal Bushland Park just outside of Lobethal. The trails in the park were through heritage-listed bush but the park was burnt out in the December 2019 Adelaide Hills bush fire. Through the care of passionate volunteers\, the park has been remarked and is showing signs of incredible regrowth. There are also exciting signs that kangaroos\, echidnas and bird life are returning. We will walk through trails which have been burnt\, but there are wonderful signs of regrowth on some of the trees and also the undergrowth. Slopes are mostly gradual. A good walk for new walkers and families\, with toilets and a picnic area on completion.

DESCRIPTION:This walk is a little different insofar that you must book our walk first\, then contact Zoos.SA to purchase your ticket into the park..\nWe are opening bookings early to ensure you get an entry ticket to the park.\nThe walk itself is an easy 9-10klms\, mostly on flat ground tracks. \nBookings at the Wildlife Park\, Sunday the 27th of September\, open the same day as our registration opens.\nCopy the following link into your browser to book your admission. SUMMARY:Burnside Trails
DESCRIPTION:Essentially a loop walk starting from Brock Reserve with a pleasant climb up to Mt Osmond golf course offering some splendid views back across Adelaide to the gulf. From near the golf course we will follow the Old Bullock Trail before dropping down towards Waterfall Gully then returning to the Old Bullock Trail and prior to going back past the golf course to cross Mt Osmond Road  and enter Themeda Reserve. From there we descend crossing Mt Osmond Road a couple of more times before a zig-zag climb back into Mt Osmond Reserve for the final gentle descent back to our cars. \nThis a relatively comfortable walk as the climb up to the golf course is not steep and the zig-zag climb is sharp but quite short. \nThere will be a short stop for morning tea.

DESCRIPTION:The walk commences from the oldest timber plantation in the Mount Lofty Ranges\, planted in 1898. Combining sections of the Onkeeta Trail\, Heysen Trail and the Willunga Basin Trail we will complete a loop. The walk is mainly  on open tracks\, while the landscape is a mixture of forest\, native vegetation and farmland. This is an easy walk with no major hills\, making it a good introduction for new walkers.

SUMMARY:Onkaparinga River Recreation Park
DESCRIPTION:A “figure 8” loop walk covering most of the Pingle farm\, Noarlunga Downs Wetland and Wetlands Loop Trails.  A very flat walk\, only a couple of short rises to negotiate (you can’t really call them hills lol!).  The distance covered will be approximately 13.5 km\, which may be shortened in the event of inclement weather. \nWe will see plenty of birdlife\, and maybe some kangaroos.  We will cross over the old railway bridge over the Onkaparinga River adjacent to Main South Road\, and walk adjacent to a grass airstrip\, home of the South coast Flying Club and Model Aircraft Club.  If we are lucky\, we may see some light planes and model aircraft flying.

SUMMARY:Mt Lofty / Heysen Loop
DESCRIPTION:A loop walk on the Heysen Trail taking in the Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens\, the winding fire tracks of Cleland Conservation Park. \nFrom our meeting point we walk north west on the main Heysen Trail route towards Mt Lofty. \nWe then take the relatively short\, steep climb to the summit of Mt Lofty. This section of the walk is a bit challenging as we climb St. Michael Hill. \nThe reward is an morning tea at the Mount Lofty Summit cafe as we admire panoramic views over Piccadilly Valley and Adelaide City. BYO morning tea or pick up a coffee at the cafe. \nWe then take the Heysen Trail alternative route to the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden upper car park.  After meandering through the garden\, enjoy its tranquillity\, and return to the cars.

DESCRIPTION:This walk will be in the Stuart Gorge area.  It will include some up and down sections.    Depending on the river water level we will cross the river several times\, and this will include rock hopping.  The walk will include the Magpie Creek Trail\, and a view of the Sturt Dam.  Waterproof hiking boots recommended.   A reasonable fitness is required.

DESCRIPTION:Come along for an Adelaide Hills walk in the Mt George Conservation Park. Starting at Bridgewater\, we will use the Heysen Trail and other local walking trails to explore the area\, culminating in a short climb to the Mt George summit. Wear appropriate clothing and footwear and carry sufficient water for the conditions on the day. Bring snacks for a morning tea break.

SUMMARY:Onkaparinga
DESCRIPTION:A Trail Starter in length\, but with uneven\, rocky\, slippery and undulating tracks. \nA circular walk in a small area of the Onkaparinga National Park passing through areas of native bush\, including pink gum and grey box woodland. We may see orchids\, kangaroos\, birds and echidna diggings.  As we make our way along some sections of the ridge top there is fabulous views of the gorge.

DESCRIPTION:This is a loop walk\, walking to and through Hardy’s scrub.  You will see native flora and lovely overviews of the surrounding vineyards and hills.  There will be some sections of hill climbing\, but in the main will be gentle inclines and declines. \nThis walk will take approximately 3 1/2 hours.  You will need enclosed walking shoes/boots\, as we will be going through scrub\, as well as water and a hat.
