DESCRIPTION:A loop walk with plenty of river crossings and rock scrambling. A short detour to view the picturesque Cascades. Some short but steep inclines and declines made worth the effort with this walk through the stunning Sturt Gorge. Be prepared to get your feet wet if the river level is up. Please note this is a harder loop walk of about 13km and recommended for those with Trail walker experience. Anticipate 4-5 hrs. DESCRIPTION:Starting from Belair N.P. we will walk a short distance to Randel Park where weather permitting there will be views over the city. We pass through the Mitcham cemetery and then walk along Brownhill Creek. A short climb has us back into Belair N.P. where we follow marked trails\, passing above the Upper Waterfall before looping further into the park and returning to the start. SUMMARY:TW Wattle Pk to Horsnell Gully
DESCRIPTION:Walk up Kensington Road\, Wattle Park to the lookout to see stunning views over the city to the coast. Follow a road reserve and suburban streets to Old Coach Road\, then a brief down hill and a lot of up hill until we reach the point where Old Coach Road intersects the Heysen Trail at the top of Horsnell Gully CP. Plenty of bush scenery and likely to see koalas. We then follow the Heysen Trail for a short while within Horsnell Gully CP\, before turning off onto the Rockdale Hill Track and walking mostly down hill to the Horsnell Gully CP car park. The next part is mostly up hill along suburban streets and gravel roads\, before entering the Magill Stone Mine Reserve. SUMMARY:TW Sturt Gorge River Trail Loop
DESCRIPTION:We start by walking on some trails in a gully at the northern side of Sturt Gorge\, before ascending to a ridge track with undulations. We then descend to the river and start walking the River Trail. We follow the River Trail (with a small detour to the dam wall) until Murrays Hill Road\, with multiple crossings of Sturt River via rocks\, some rock scrambling and plenty of ups and downs. We then return to the cars via some Craigburn Farm tracks (including the lake) and some fire tracks. Interesting rocks in the gorge\, scenic trees and river\, plenty of birdlife and the possibility of kangaroos or koalas. DESCRIPTION:Coastal Series walk 5-7 0ver two days\n\nThese walks follow the spectacular coastline from O’Sullivan’s Beach to Sellicks Beach\n\nThe walks may include some Beach Walking\, Scrub Walking & Pebble Beach Walking\n\nSaturday 17th – O’Sullivan’s Beach to Frank Milton Reserve\, Maslin’s Beach – 15 km\n\nWalk 5 & part of Walk 6 –\n\nSunday 18th – Frank Milton Reserve\, Maslin’s Beach to Sellicks Beach – 17 km\n\npart of Walk 6 & Walk 7\n\nRegister for walks Separately through the Walk Calender\n\nMeeting at end point and carpooling to start.\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.
