SUMMARY:Mt Misery
DESCRIPTION:This is a challenging walk which will start at 8.30 am and include at the start a car shuttle from our meeting point. The walk is challenging because there are a number of hills which will involve walking up hill a number of times during the day. Once we reach the summit of Mt Misery\, the return journey will also involve more hills. I expect to finish sometime late afternoon and therefore require all walkers to carry enough food and water for morning tea\, lunch and perhaps even mid afternoon energy snack. If the weather is kind to us\, this day out will be really worthwhile. If not\, we will remember this walk for a while!

DESCRIPTION:A challenging walk involving some interesting tracks around the Morialta Conservation Park. The walk has 2 distinct loops. From upper car park will walk along the road to lower car park\, from where we turn left climbing to Deep View look out. Following Rocky Hill track\, Moores track will descend to Fox Dam. Reaching Montacute Road will turn back climbing Hikers’ Hill (Chapman’s track) and then via Third Falls to the car park. \n\nGood level of fitness is required as the track is classified hard and involves steep hills down and up.\n\nHiker’s hill is one of the steepest and hardest in the area\, but will stop as many times required. The challenge will be rewarded in the end with great scenery and accomplishment of a hard walk. \n\nBe prepared for cold weather\, maybe wet. Walking poles are advisable\, water\, snacks\, good walking shoes or boots and positive attitude.

SUMMARY:Moana to Port Willunga
DESCRIPTION:For the last Trailwalker (2015 season)\, I am offering a walk across an interesting section of Adelaide’s southern coastline with dramatic cliffs\, a nudist beach and other historic features. This walk is about 19.5 kms long and comprises a variety of walking surfaces from beach sand to cliff face rocks. Our lunch stop is near an icecream shop at Port Willunga! \n\nThis walk could be undertaken in hot conditions. SUMMARY:Lavender Federation Trail Keyneton to Truro
DESCRIPTION:Sorry for posting these details late – have been ill for two weeks.\n\nThis should be a nice walk to finish our season. Walk distance is close to 21.5 kms. Could not make it any shorter because first walk next year has access issues and needs to be 21/22 kms.\n\nCountryside will be different from what we have seen so far. There will be more open paddocks and cropping. There will be few undulations and dirt road/farm access tracks will dominate. Don’t forget to oil the hip joints!\n\nThe panorama should be green fields and more intense farming. We will see more evidence of vineyards.\n\nIf you intend to stay on after the walk has finished bring a chair and some refreshments.

SUMMARY:Montacute (Mount Misery)
DESCRIPTION:Montacute Conservation Park and Cudlee Creek forestry area are very hilly places. Walkers should be prepared for up and down hills and if wet weather is forecast\, slippery conditions as well.\n\nThe walk incorporates a steep climb to Mount Misery with wonderful views over the Kangaroo Creek reservoir and Adelaide plains.\n\nThis is a demanding walk. Walk distance 16. 4 km and will take 5 to 5.30 hours.\n\nBring extra water\, ideally you should carry 2- 3 litres of water for this walk.\n\nAt the end of the walk we can have a well deserved break at the Anderson Hill Winery where we can eat pizza\, cheese and of course sample the local wine.

We pass St Magnus Homestead formally Spring Vale and home to George Phillis\, Sir Walter Young and Kym Bonython.\n\nThe Seagas Pipeline from Port Campbell Victoria to Port Adelaide passes under the track.\n\nSheep grazing\, stands of eucalypt plantations gradually give way to grape vines the closer we get to Springton.\n\nThere are areas that get boggy with heavy rains and caution is required negotiating these places.\n\nThere is some open country which is hard going when strong winds are blowing. SUMMARY:Lavender Federation Trail Bondleigh to Mount Beevor
DESCRIPTION:From Rams Road the trail passes abandoned ruins before following Gum Gully Creek. This is a steady climb. There are some awkward spots at times\, sometimes boggy\, with some thick vegetation and rocky ground. The prolific wildlife in this isolated area makes the walk worthwhile.\n\nThe final section of the slow ascent to Mt Beevor is particularly steep. There are comms towers at the summit with spectacular 360 degree views. From there is a 4 km downhill walk to intersection of Fendlers rd and Blackheath Road (marked as Mount Torrens Road on the LT Map).
