SUMMARY:Bootcamp Run
DESCRIPTION:There are literally dozens of tracks in the Cleland area that see little use any more and are now overgrown or closed. This walk will link up a number of these with a strong emphasis on a number of steep climbs and descents. It will involve a little bushbashing and off track walking and we’ll head to a mystery destination with a prize for anyone who can solve the riddle of why it is there.

DESCRIPTION:A walk mostly on roads.\n\nUsing parts of the George Driscoll Sea to Summit Trail and the Yurrebilla Trail we decend from Crafers into Brownhill Creek via Belair National Park … and than climb all the way out again via a more direct route

SUMMARY:Deep Creek Conservation Park
DESCRIPTION:This walk will cover some of the best areas of deep Creek Conservation Park. It will be challenging in places\, you will pass thru thick native scrub\, past a waterfall to a cove and spectacular coastal scenery. There should be plenty of native animals and wildflower’s in this remote area.\n\nYou will need to get a day pass to the park\, at the self registration point as you near Trig camp ground.

SUMMARY:Newland Head
DESCRIPTION:Loop walk through Newland Head Conservation Park which includes part of Heysen Trail. This beautiful coastal walk starts from Waitpinga Beach passing through sand dunes and mainly coastal vegetation. Views across Waitinga and Parsons Beaches to Kangaroo Island can be enjoyed at the lookout. Walking along the cliff tops is a rewarding section with views towards the Bluff. The trail is sandy with lots of exposed tree roots.

SUMMARY:The Real Chambers Gully
DESCRIPTION:Hello\, Afficionados of the hard slog! In keeping with my previous challenging walks\, I offer for tasting\, a sample of harder tracks within Chambers Gully and its surrounds in the Cleland Conservation Park. To ensure that our thigh muscles are well lubricated\, we will start this walk by avoiding the Sunday\, Lycra clad crowds and their cars that descend upon Waterfall Gully Road. By the time we enter Chambers Gully\, no hill will be too daunting for our group. As this is Springtime\, the normally greyish green native flora will for a change look slightly more colourful. Well worn footwear recommended + about 2 litres of water.\n\nIf your question is\, “I walk regularly with my dog\, along the beach in Glenelg. Would I be able to do this walk?”\n\nThe answer would be\, “Absolutely not! Leave your dog at home.”

SUMMARY:Sea-to-Summit Trail (Mt Lofty Half)
DESCRIPTION:This is a beautiful walk that takes in the entire length of Belair National Park before heading up along Waverley Ridge to Crafers. We then cross over the South Eastern Freeway to wind our way up to the Mt Lofty Summit using Cleland Conservation Park. There is 3kms of road walking to be done and all walkers will need to have a moderate level of fitness. Afterwards\, those who wish can join me for a well earned ale or wine (and/or lunch) at the Crafers Hotel.

SUMMARY:Para Wirra
DESCRIPTION:This should be a lovely walk thru native scrub in wild flower season. it shouldn’t be too challenging for reasonably fit walkers but there are lots of undulating tracks and fire trails to negotiate.\n\nI will be concentrating more on the southern section of the park\, rather than the more frequented Barossa Goldfields area

SUMMARY:Scott Creek
DESCRIPTION:This is a walk of about 19 kms in the Scott Creek Conservation Park. Before the arrival of the Europeans\, this area was heavily forested. Loggers and miners put paid to that soon after.\n\nThe walk will start at 8.30 am and finish sometime between 2 and 3.00 pm. Almanda Silver Mine (1850 -1870)\, Mackereth Cottage\, circa 1840\, are located within the Conservation Park. In the morning\, we will be walking towards the eastern boundary of the park with a gradual uphill climb of about 200 meters. By late morning\, early afternoon\, the western side of the park will be traversed. Throughout the day\, walkers will be walking on a variety of tracks and fire trails.\n\nThis walk will be appreciated by afficionados of the hard slog.
