SUMMARY:TW Three Parks Panorama
DESCRIPTION:The Three-parks Panorama. We meander through the walking trails of Cox Scrub Conservation Park and a steady climb to Ridge Road. Some road walking takes us to our first crossing of the Finniss River before climbing up to and through the Finniss Conservation Park. From there it’s on to the Mount Magnificent Conservation Park. If the weather is good and the legs willing\, we will have lunch on the summit.  The return journey starts with a long\, steady meander down Cole Crossing Road and on to our second crossing of the Finniss River (this one might mean wet feet?). Re-entering Cox Scrub Conservation Park we use more walking trails back to the car park.\n\nThis is a long and testing walk – for experienced trail walkers only.\n\nYour walk leader is Dean Mortimer. Please call him as your first option if you have any issues on 0428 557 757. If no answer\, then second option is to text a message.\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.

SUMMARY:TW Cleland
DESCRIPTION:Those of you that have walked with me before know that I love hills. I might be slower climbing them these days (aging they say) but I still love them. So\, this walk in Cleland has 2 lengthy climbs\, 2 descents (though not in that order) and a lot of undulations in between. Some road walking involved.\n\n22k long and with more than a hand full of vertical metres\, it makes for a good training walk for end to enders. Come join me (unless you are a member of E2E15 or E2E17 as you will be required to be elsewhere).\n\nThis walk may be shortened on the day if the weather decided not to cooperate.\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.

SUMMARY:Sea to Summit
DESCRIPTION:This 32km walk meanders its way from the coast\, through urban landscapes linking up back streets and several recreation parks & reserves\, passing a Buddhist stupa before reaching the highest point in the ranges with rewarding views overlooking the city and where we commenced our journey.\n\nThis is a considerably long demanding day as we will be walking at a reasonable pace for the whole day. If you are unsure of walking this distance or haven’t been walking plenty of hills\, best not to start here.\n\nA bus will be used to ferry the group back to cars from Mt Lofty at end of day.\n\nIf you participate in this walk\, bus payment is required for all walkers regardless of whether you use it or not.\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. SUMMARY:TW Deep Creek Circuit Hike

One section does require a rock scramble. Trailwalker fitness is recommended for this walk. while it is only just over 12 km it makes up for it in ups and downs.\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.

All FoHT members are welcome to join us\, and for those of you new to hiking\, wear comfortable hiking boots with good grip\, bring along your walking poles (if you have them)\, two litres of water\, something to eat at morning tea and something for lunch and as the forecast is for wet conditions don’t forget your rain jackets & pants etc.\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. SUMMARY:Mount Bold Reservoir & Rocky Creek with E2E14
DESCRIPTION:E2E14 are on the path to get fit ready for their final year on the Heysen Trail and all FoHT members are welcome to join us!\n\nThis will be an 8:30am sharp start for an 19km Trail Walker loop\, a great way to get over your election hangover and clear your mind with a lovely walk in nature!\n\nThis walk starts near Rocky Creek Hut and winds it way through Kuitpo Forest North followed by a few kms on orienteering trails and a short off-trail section before making our way to Mount Bold Reservoir and some steep descents very challenging climbs but the views are amazing. After the half way mark the tough stuff is over and the second half is reasonably flat and goes through pine forest and bushland and again makes use of orienteering trails and goes off-trail so gaiters are a good idea for this walk.\n\nThere will a short break for morning tea as well a longer break for lunch.\n\nWalk Difficulty – Trail Walkers are demanding and suitable for experienced walkers who have walked regularly in various terrain consisting of long-distance trails with some steep inclines/declines\, irregular surface with loose uneven\, slippery base. They have a walking time of about 5 to 7 hours and will require a good degree of physical fitness.\n\n \n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.

SUMMARY:TW Burnside Hills and Beyond.
DESCRIPTION:The final training walk for E2E16 before we launch into Year 4. But everyone is welcome. 16s are very friendly and seldom bite.\n\nStarting from Brock Reserve\, we head up through Mt Osmond Reserve. A brief visit into Glen Osmond CP before heading into Cleland. A bit of everything on this walk. Some ups and downs. Long flat stretches. Wide fire tracks and narrow bush trails. Some stoney sections. And if the weather gods bless us with some rain\, some slippery sections. And no Heysen walk would be complete without some roadside walking.\n\nAt 26k\, it roughly equates\, distance wise to day one of our first weekend away. But then we have to back up with another 22k the next day. A sobering thought.\n\n \n\n \n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.
