SUMMARY:TW Black Hill Loop ( morning)
DESCRIPTION:An endearing feature of Black Hill CP is the lack of long\, flat stretches of trail. Don’t believe me? Then come on out.\n\nWhile this is a reasonably short walk\, it packs a punch. We will often be on wide fire trails but where possible\, we will get out on to narrow\, bush trails that will be rocky and steep. Bring your poles.\n\nPlease present yourself well hydrated. That means increasing your water intake for 24 hours leading up to the walk. And please carry some Scroggin that is easily accessible without removing your pack. A steady intake of calories may be helpful.\n\nThis will not be a fast walk. There will be opportunities for faster walkers to go ahead and stretch their legs. But as always\, the pace of the group will be set by the slowest walker. And on the uphills\, that may well be me. Leg strength will be more important than leg speed.\n\nTo get back to the cars requires some walking along the Torrens Linear Path and some back street footpaths. But we finish the walk back on trails. Hopefully\, we will still be friends.\n\n \n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.

SUMMARY:Cobbler Hill to Tapanappa
DESCRIPTION:Although relatively short\, this section of the trail offers spectacular scenery as you walk along narrow single file tracks through the dense native scrub. Several steep and slippery sections over rocks are present as you frequently make your way down to\, and up from gullies and creeks and past a waterfall within Deep Creek National Park.\n\nThis walk is intended to serve as both an introduction to the Heysen Trail and a chance to catch up this section of the trail.  Rather than using a bus we will car-shuffle between the end and start of the walk.\n\nThere will be no support vehicle so please assess your level of fitness prior to joining this walk.\n\nIf the forecast maximum for Victor Harbor on Saturday evening is 28 or higher the event will be cancelled.\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.

SUMMARY:Cape Jervis to Cobbler Hill
DESCRIPTION:Commencing at Cape Jervis\, the coastal scenery along this region of the Fleurieu Peninsula is spectacular\, and is a lovely walk along the first section of the Heysen Trail. The trail begins with a meander along sandy coastal tracks and exposed hillsides\, with views of Kangaroo Island and the Southern Ocean over your right shoulder. On occasions\, walkers are often rewarded with sightings of seals & dolphins. The trail progressively develops several undulations further along as you approach Blow Hole Beach within the Deep Creek Conservation Park. The walk ends with a much-anticipated hill climb for approx. 2km through native vegetation back to the vehicles.\n\nThis walk is intended to serve as both an introduction to the Heysen Trail and a chance to catch up this section of the trail. SUMMARY:Cleland Loop
DESCRIPTION:So\, we are now at the end of the Winter walking season. Your trail hardened and as fit as you have been all year. Let’s finish this season with a bang.\n\nWe will meet at Measday’s Lookout\, and then make our way down to the valley floor. And then it is straight into the ascending till we are just short of the summit.\n\nAnd then we will go back down.\n\nAnd when we are neither up nor down\,\n\nWe will turn around\,\n\nAnd head for the summit again.\n\nBut not all the way.\n\nExpect 22k and enough vertical metres climbed to ensure that you sleep well that night. Pace will be moderate except on the steeper climbs (of which there are several) when you will walk at your own pace. We will wait for you.\n\nYou will finish the walk tired but exhilarated. So much so that you will want to rush home to book onto my next Cleland adventure on the following weekend.\n\nContact me on 0412228631 for further information\, or if you are running late on the day.\n\nCheers.\n\n \n\n \n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.

SUMMARY:Cape Jervis to Cobblers Hill
Rather than using a bus we will car-shuffle between the end and start of the walk.\n\nThere will be no support vehicle so please assess your level of fitness prior to joining this walk.\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.

SUMMARY:3 Parks Panorama
DESCRIPTION:The Three-parks Panorama. We meander through the walking trails of Cox Scrub Conservation Park and a steady climb to Ridge Road. Some road walking takes us to our first crossing of the Finniss River before climbing up to and through the Finniss Conservation Park. From there it’s on to the Mount Magnificent Conservation Park. If the weather is good and the legs willing\, we will have lunch on the summit.  The return journey starts with a long\, steady meander down Cole Crossing Road and on to our second crossing of the Finniss River (this one might mean wet feet?). Re-entering Cox Scrub Conservation Park we use more walking trails back to the car park.\n\nThis is a long and testing walk – for experienced trail walkers only.\n\nYour walk leader is Dean Mortimer. Please call him as your first option if you have any issues on 0428 557 757. If no answer\, then second option is to text a message.\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.
