SUMMARY:WBT Section 7+ Section 8
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 3rd \nWalking this section first as there’s a creek crossing involved. Hence trying to avoid too much water to negotiate. The trail drops straight into the Onkaparinga River National Park following a series of well worn trails and great scenery .Upon leaving the park walkers are rewarded with views of open farmland and big skies.After the water hazard we climb up onto quiet backroads with more vistas to complete the walk .A great walk to start our journey along the WBT. \nSUN – 4th \nWalking from Kangarilla we work our way past open farm country and skirt around the  edges of Kuitpo Forest . \nA reservation has been made at Carmel’s Bar and Grill\, Main Road\, Mclaren Vale for dinner at 6pm on Saturday 3rd May 2025. Please use the RSVP function to confirm your attendance. \nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. SUMMARY:WBT Section 1+2 Section 3+4
DESCRIPTION:Sat 31st May Sections 1+2 \nThis walk starts with us walking the quiet streets of Historic Willunga .Some  lovely old houses and gardens to be seen aswell as a giant magpie.After a short walk alongside the main rd to Victor we head off  along backroads through grape growing country.Leaving the vineyards the trail gradually climbs up through varying terrain until we reach the ridgeline .Great views of the coastline are had on and off from here on as we walk more backroads before dropping down through some great countryside.Before you know it we will be back at the Victory Hotel where you can enjoy a Lemonade. \nSunday 1st June \nAfter the rigours of yesterday this walk starts with a gentle stroll along the Esplanade with mansions on one side and Classic Coastal views on the other.Dropping down onto the beach we get our first taste of beach walking\, before leaving the coastline and heading inland.Aldinga Scrub and Hart’s Rd Wetland  gives the walker a chance to take shelter for a while from potential coastal gales before emerging on the coastline again.A mix of cliff top and beach walking sees us finish off the day at Maslins Beach. Remember to look back every now and then to see the stunning cliff colours along this last section. Although this beach is deemed an area for unclad people\,your leaders would appreciate it if all clothes are left on . \nA reservation has been made at the Silver Sands Beach Club for dinner at 6pm on Saturday 31st May 2025. DESCRIPTION:Sat 28th \nJust as you thought that may be the end of the beach walking ? After a short walk through Frank Hilton Reserve we descend back onto the beach for a 3.6km sandy saunter.We get up close and personal with the Clarendon Fault as we stay close to the bottom of the cliffs for a while. At Moana we head inland passing wetlands hopefully with abundant birdlife.Joining the Coast to Vines Trail we pass under the Main South Rd & Victor Harbor Rd before finishing at McLaren Vale . \nSun 29th \nLeaving McLaren Vale we follow back streets of the town before heading out through wine growing country.A series of backroads sees us cross Chapel Hill Rd into Onkaparinga National Pk .1.3kms from here we’ll arrive back at cars. \nA reservation has been made at the McLaren Vale Hotel for 6pm on Saturday 28th June 2025. SUMMARY:WBT Section10+11 Section 9
DESCRIPTION:SAT 26th Sections 11&10 \nStarting with a pleasant saunter through the Onka NP we then venture out onto many backroads and unmade road reserves. We have the opportunity to do a 2km loop through Manning Fauna & Flora Reserve as we travel along this section. Further along we also have the opportunity to climb Sandalwood Lookout\, a 1.5km return walk with views across the surrounding countryside. Leaving section 11 and moving onto section 10 we start heading for Willunga. A number of undulations are encountered on this section as we descend in and out of creek lines. Back roads and road reserves sees us finish the day in Willunga where the main street welcomes the weary walker. \nSun 27th Section 9 \nStarting the day back up in the high country walkers are rewarded with distant views of where we’ve been in the previous months. A long section of back road walking{8kms} is covered before we enter Adams Gully Scrub\, which is also part of the Kidman trail. The trail then enters a number of private properties to finish off this section. One of these sections has a very steep section to navigate where care should must be taken. \nA reservation has been made for dinner at the Old Bush Inn\, 51-53 High Street\, Willunga at 6pm on Saturday 26th July 2025.
