SUMMARY:Chambers Gully
DESCRIPTION:We will enjoy the cool sanctuary of Chambers Gully as we follow the track fringed with ferns. Cockatoos\, butterflies\, koalas and bandicoots love this gully.  A fairly steep climb takes us up around SugarLoaf hill\, which provides splendid views of the city and coast.\n\nThe ground is quite uneven so wear sturdy walking boots\, and bring your poles if you want.\n\nJoin us for a meal afterwards at Cascada Cafe – 540 Glynburn Road\, Burnside. This is  optional.

DESCRIPTION:After a short road walk\, the trail enters the small but picturesque Yulte Conservation Park. After emerging from the bushland\, the trail crosses open farmland continuing along Lawless Rd (and the Myponga Pistol Club firing range)\, and gradually climbing to Mt Cone\, which offers distant views over Victor Harbor to the South.

SUMMARY:Sturt Gorge and Craigburn Farm
DESCRIPTION:A long and at times challenging loop walk. Some steep up and down hills\, and a little rock climbing. We will walk along the River Trail\, up to the top of the Sturt River Flood Control Dam.  From there\, we will continue through to the Craigburn Farm Lake. a nice spot to stop.  We cross Murray’s Hill Road at Coromandel Valley\, and see the impressive old stone bridge here. We continue along the Wattle and Lomandra Trails\, back to our starting point. Walking poles are a definite advantage. Not recommended if you have knee troubles.  Please contact the leader on 0421 177 822 on the day if you can’t make it.

SUMMARY:Mt Barker Summit
DESCRIPTION:From Laratinga Wetlands on Mount Barker Creek our ultimate destination is the summit of Mount Barker. On a clear day views can be had toward the Lower Lakes of the Murray River and west over the Onkaparinga Valley to Mount Lofty. Walking will be on the verge of some minor country roads until we reach the Conservation Reserve which provides a trail through open woodland. The understorey has a sparse layer of native shrubs amongst which are a variety of wild flowers.

SUMMARY:Webb Gap to Burra Rd to Worlds End
DESCRIPTION:NOTE – If you wish to walk on only one day\, please contact the FOHT office to register for that day. The online registering system will only allow you to register for both walking days.\n\nSATURDAY 27 October\n\nThe trail once again crosses over the Tothill Range and back providing expansive views across the surrounding farmlands and Apoinga Lagoon. A sharp climb after Huppatz Hut and an at times tricky descent back to Burra Road provides a fore taste of things to come in future walks.\n\nSUNDAY 28th October\n\nA short walk across paddocks to the Morgan-Whyalla pipeline is followed by an interesting walk through an area of the Halleluja Hills before reaching Worlds End Road. Once off this road we finish near the Burra Gorge campground.\n\nBoth these walk are quite delightful and provide a fitting finale to this seasons walking.\n\nThe theme for our dinner on Saturday night is Halloween.

The online registering 	system will only allow you to register for both days.\n\nDay 1 Saturday 20th October 2018 16kms\n\nAn easy walk\, predominantly along roads and road reserves\, this section takes us through the town of Crystal Brook\, then follows the Crystal Brook itself to historic Bowman Park.\n\nDay 2 Sunday 21st October 2018 16kms\n\nBeginning as a pleasant walk along the Crystal Brook\, past the southern most hills of the Flinders Ranges\, the Trail gradually climbs to the top of the range to reveal views over Port Pirie and Spencer Gulf.

DESCRIPTION:We need help at the Shed.\n\nOur shed is not just a ‘Men’s Shed’. We need helpers to sort our supplies\, keep the shed in good order and prepare materials for the trail. \n\nThere are a range of jobs to be done which may vary from week to week as we get ready for different projects. Colin can also assign jobs based on your physical abilities.\n\nTasks to be done over the next few weeks include:\n\n•	Tidying up the shed\,\n\n•	Cutting up timber suitable for making stiles\,\n\n•	Preparing steel mesh for the Mt Crawford stair project.

SUMMARY:Mt Lofty via Eagle on the Hill
DESCRIPTION:A loop walk\, combining several of the walking tracks in Cleland conservation Park.  Morning Tea or Lunch will be had at the Summit\, to explore the stalls at the Hiking Expo\, which starts at 10.30 am.  Bring your own eats or drinks\, as there may be long queues at the cafe! Any walk leaders interested in becoming my Tail End Charlie?  Contact the leader on 0421 177 822 for any queries.  Don’t be late\, as we may not wait for latecomers\, especially if you do not contact the leader first!

SUMMARY:Inman Valley to Myponga
DESCRIPTION:Majestic gums line roadsides leading to the climb up Sugarloaf Hill where walkers are rewarded with spectacular rural views. The trail then leads into Myponga Conservation Park for more views and some testing undulations. Pretty farmland and quiet country roads complete this section.

DESCRIPTION:Most Adelaidians are familiar with the Waterfall Gully track to Mt Lofty Summit but did you know there are at least 10 other routes that can get you to the top? Come and join one of the hosted walks and discover some of the lesser known trails exploring Cleland Conservation Park and the trails beyond.\n\nThere are walk options to suit everybody. If you’re after a serious climb along forest trails to get your heart pumping\, a gentle ramble to take in the scenery or something in between then we have a walk for you. Check out the options and choose from various lengths\, terrain and starting points. All guided walks will start at 10:30am and will be lead by us or other Walking SA member clubs so you don’t even need to read a map!\n\nOnce you’re at the top\, you can refresh yourself at the Summit Cafe and stroll among the stall holders in the summit courtyard.\n\nTo register for this event please visit the Walking SA link below. SUMMARY:Warren Gorge to Eyre Depot; Woolshed Flat to Quorn
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday … Warren Gorge to Eyre Depot.\n\nAn early start will take us driving to Warren Gorge to start from there.\n\nAfter climbing over the saddle we will enter Mount Arden Creek and wind our way southwards. The  winding creek bed with its waterfalls and rocky sections can make progress very slow. Leaving the ranges will have us arriving at Eyre Depot … and then only a short walk to meet the bus waiting to take us back to Warren Gorge to collect our cars.\n\nOn Sunday … Woolshed flat to Quorn.\n\nA steady climb to start the day takes walkers to the top of the range and views over Pichi Richi Pass. After descending into the pass again\, the Trail follows the historic Pichi Richi railway line\, passing the remnants of deserted sidings and settlements.\n\nNOTE – If you wish to walk on only one day\, please contact the FOHT office to register for that days walk. DESCRIPTION:A challenging walk in and around Morialta Conservation Park that includes two possibly three testing climbs(including Chapmans Track) and a somewhat difficult descent down Centre Track. An ideal walk for the end of the season.
