DESCRIPTION:We will begin along Linear Park to warm up the legs ready for a hilly walk through Black hill conservation park. The walk will include going up Main ridge Track And Quarry Track so bring your climbing legs. SUMMARY:Cleland to Montacute Heights
DESCRIPTION:A testing and spectacular walk that passes through the native bushland of Cleland\, Horsnell Gully and Morialta Cons. Parks and along roadsides\, providing frequent vistas over Adelaide and the hills.\n\nThis is the longest and most difficult walk on the trail so far at a bit over 26 klms with many ups and downs throughout.\n\nIt is one of the memorable walks on the trail.

DESCRIPTION:This is E2E10’s first Weekend Away of Walking\, its a 3 day Event.\n\nWalking from Kapunda to Gerkie Gap:\n\nDay 1: Saturday 30th September 2017 – Kapunda to Hamilton 24kms\n\nFrom Kapunda its a pleasant walk following back roads\, tracks and fence lines through the undulating farmland of the lower North Mount Lofty Ranges.\n\nDay 2: Sunday 1st September 2017 – Hamilton to Peters Hill 19kms\n\nA pleasant section of the trail follows back roads and road reserves of open scrub land\, before a short walk up Peters Hill\, where walkers are rewarded with pretty vistas over the farmlands of the lower mid north.\n\nDay 3: Monday 2nd October 2017 – Peters Hill to Gerkie Gap 14kms \n\nA pleasant walk along back roads through undulating farmland to the southern end of the Tothill Range\, taking in the town of Marrabel and its memorial to the famous buck jumper ‘Curio’.

SUMMARY:Mt Pleasant
DESCRIPTION:A walk through some of the eastern areas of the Mt Crawford Forest Reserve. Beginning with a circuit of the Mt Pleasant Summit Trail it then ventures onto nearby tracks including the Dewells Trail before returning to the Summit Trail for the final couple of kilometres back to the cars.\n\nThe walk wends its way through a mix of pine plantations and native forest and includes an ascent of Mt Pleasant and at some stage treads on each of the Heysen\, Kidman & Mawson Trails.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday 7th October 2017\n\nA steady climb to start the day takes walkers to the top of the range and views over Pichi Richi Pass. After descending into the pass again\, the Trail follows the historic Pichi Richi railway line\, passing the remnants of deserted sidings and settlements. \n\nSunday 8th October 2017\n\nThis section of the trail passes the outskirts of Quorn before climbing gradually towards The Dutchmans Stern. Taking a detour off of the Heysen Trail to walk the 6 km Dutchmans Stern loop will provide a memorable highlight.\n\nTHEME: SUMMER\, SURF AND SAND\n\nNOTE – If you wish to walk on only one day\, please contact the FOHT office to register for that day. SUMMARY:Great North Walk
DESCRIPTION:The Great North Walk is a walking track which runs from Sydney to Newcastle in New South Wales.  The main track\, 250 kilometres in length\, runs between the Obelisk in Macquarie Place in Sydney to Queens Wharf Tower in Bicentennial Park in Newcastle and is well sign-posted. There are many “side tracks” which link the track to populated areas along the length of the walk. The walk includes a huge variety of wildlife and scenery.\n\nAccommodation is in high quality cabins\, with plenty of options for singles or couples.

SUMMARY:Cudlee Creek to Nugget Road
DESCRIPTION:A pretty walk through the rolling hills of the South Mt Lofty Ranges including several blocks of the Mt Crawford Forest Reserve and picturesque farmlands. The trail includes a climb up & the descent of Mt. Gould followed by a few minor ups & downs prior to the finish of the walk. There is short walk to the cars after leaving the track upon meeting Nugget Road (this may vary depending upon how far the bus is able to drive along Nugget Road).\n\nPlease note this is our last walk for the season. Being our end of year celebration\, it will again be themed as Christmas. \n\nWe would love every one to don their tinsel and Christmas attire and bring a (small) Christmas theme plate of food to share. \n\nThe support car will have a fridge\, so you can bring food that needs refrigeration. \n\nHo Ho Ho!

SUMMARY:Marino not Merino
DESCRIPTION:This walk explores what the seaside suburb of Marino has to offer such as secret gullies\, cliff top paths\, artworks\, parks\, lighthouse\, amazing rocky beach and stunning city and sea views. The sun sets at 8.06 pm so the light will be fantastic and we may even see the local Little Falcon out hunting his dinner or Nankeen Kestrels hovering motionless above the cliffs.\n\nThis walk includes stairs\, hills and some uneven ground however the pace will be relaxed. Marino is also well known for snakes and so please wear good footwear and remain alert while walking. \n\nThe walk will be followed by an optional meal at a local hotel.\n\nIf you are coming by train\, get off at MARINO ROCKS station.

DESCRIPTION:Come along to a ‘behind the scenes’ inspection of the Trail Development project work being undertaken at the Cobbler Creek shed.\n\nPlease help give our Trail Development and Maintenance program a big shot in the arm!\n\nEnjoy a free BBQ lunch while you check out the new 3 toilets and 15 camping platforms being constructed for the Friends by a Work for the Dole project team.\n\nThese new facilities are ready to be installed at selected locations along the trail ranging from Rossiter’s Hut in the south to Mount Elm in the Flinders.\n\nWe are looking for volunteers to help do the work BEFORE next walking season.\n\nFind out how you can be involved:\n\n – participate in one of many asset installation trips or\n\n – enlist in a team to undertake other infastructure projects at huts\, tanks and bridges along the trail.

I will therefore lead you\, not quite to perdition\, but on a reasonably stimulating ramble in the Eastern Parklands of Adelaide and follow the meandering Torrens river through Hackney and Gilberton\, before returning in time for a 7.30 to 7.45 pm dinner rich in redolent flavours at the Kin Kin Thai eatery on Hutt St. Are you game?
