DESCRIPTION:This section of the Trail goes through historic Burra\, passing the old Redruth Gaol and other reminders of a bygone era. SUMMARY:Section 60: Aroona Hut to Parachilna Trailhead
DESCRIPTION:This final section of the trail follows Aroona Valley to the watershed dividing it from the Parachilna Creek catchment to the north. It then follows the valley between ABC Range and Heysen Range\, past abandoned mines to the final stile at the Parachilna Trailhead. This walk is a pleasant amble\, perfect for reflecting on the years and kilometres taken to get here\, and the friendships made along the way.

SUMMARY:Section 20: Tanunda to Kapunda
DESCRIPTION:This section takes walkers along back roads and road reserves past vineyards and wineries of the Barossa Valley\, through the small town of Greenock and into the cropping and grazing land of the Lower North. It is a long but mainly flat walk with only a few undulations. Pleasant vistas and changing seasonal colours make this a pretty walk.

SUMMARY:Section 48: Woolshed Flat to Dutchmans Stern
DESCRIPTION:A steady climb to start the day takes walkers to the top of the range and views over Pichi Richi Pass. After descending into the pass again\, the Trail follows the historic Pichi Richi railway line\, passing the remnants of deserted sidings and settlements. The trail passes the outskirts of Quorn before climbing gradually towards The Dutchmans Stern. Taking a detour off of the Heysen Trail to walk the 6 km Dutchmans Stern loop will provide a memorable highlight.

SUMMARY:Section 5: Waitpinga to Tugwell Rd
DESCRIPTION:One of the most spectacular sections of the Trail\, walkers follow sandy tracks through the coastal scrub of Newland Head Conservation Park\, and dramatic clifftops towards Victor Harbor. Here whales have been sighted\, as well as seals\, dolphins and the endangered white bellied sea eagle. At Kings Beach the Trail leaves the coast following roads and an uncleared road reserve to begin the long journey north.

SUMMARY:Section 9: Mt Compass to Kyeema
DESCRIPTION:The pretty dairy pastures of Mt Compass and Nangkita provide the backdrop for the first section of this walk. Back roads then lead walkers through Finnis Conservation Park and into Mt Magnificent Conservation Park\, where a short hike off the main trail rewards walkers with spectacular views over the southern Fleurieu Peninsula. A combination of native bushland and open grazing land completes the day.

SUMMARY:Section 1: Cape Jervis to Cobbler Hill
DESCRIPTION:Starting from the Cape Jervis trailhead\, adjacent the ferry terminal\, this iconic first section of the Heysen Trail follows sandy coastal tracks and exposed coastal hillsides\, providing spectacular views over Backstairs Passage to Kangaroo Island. Walkers are often rewarded with sightings of seals and dolphins. At Blowhole Beach the trail enters Deep Creek Conservation Park to begin the long climb through native bushland to Cobbler Hill.

SUMMARY:Section 21: Kapunda to Hamilton
DESCRIPTION:A pleasant walk following backroads\, tracks and fence lines through the undulating farmland of the Lower North.\n\nAfter the walk there is an invitation to gather at The Tanunda Club (45 MacDonnell St\, Tanunda). This will be an opportunity to meet with other WB walkers who will have completed other nearby sections of the trail.\n\nThe Club offers reasonably priced drinks\, coffee and nibbles. Dinner will also be available if people want to “kick on”.

SUMMARY:Section 25: Webb Gap to Burra Rd
DESCRIPTION:This section of the trail continues along the Tothill Ranges\, which boast the largest remaining section of remnant scrub in the area and are one of the delights of the Mid-North\, providing expansive views over the surrounding farmland and Apoinga Lagoon.\n\nSUNDAY NIGHT – Post-walk celebration of the Warren Bonython Walk at Farrell Flat hall.  Commencing at 6 pm.  BYO BBQ meat and drinks plua a salad or dessert to share.  A gold coin donation to cover the hall hire.

SUMMARY:Section 31: Dares Hill Summit Rd to Hallett
DESCRIPTION:The trail takes walkers past the historic Mt Bryan East School\, before beginning the climb up Mt Bryan\, which is the highest point of the Mt Lofty Ranges. Walkers are rewarded with panoramic views of the Mid-North from the summit and as they descend through grazing and farming land towards Hallett.\n\nSUNDAY NIGHT – Post-walk celebration of the Warren Bonython Walk at Farrell Flat hall.  Commencing at 6 pm.  BYO BBQ meat and drinks plua a salad or dessert to share.  A gold coin donation to cover the hall hire.

SUMMARY:Section 35: Chlorinator to Curnows Hut
DESCRIPTION:Passing Bundaleer Reservoir and the permanently flowing Bundaleer Creek\, the Trail joins the Bundaleer northern intake channel at the aqueduct. After leaving the channels at the weir it follows Never Never Creek past remnant Yacca forests and grazing land towards Bundaleer Forest.
