SUMMARY:Dutchmans Stern to Eyre Depot\, and Quorn to Dutchmans Stern
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 6th – Dutchmans Stern to Eyre Depot\n\nWe do the long day today! After leaving the cars at Dutchmans Car Park\, we walk around the Stern\, then head down (unexpectly) through a lovely gorgette\, and after a climb or two\, arrive on the western margin of the ranges. Then a traverse along a fence line to Eyre Depot. \n\nThis is a deceptively tough walk with a bit of everything – undulating firetracks with spectacular views\, a rocky gorge and a gibber strewn floodplain.\n\nSunday 7th – Quorn to Dutchmans Stern\n\nFrom the outskirts of Quorn we head north-west through fields and then pleasant foothills into the Dutchmans Stern Conservation Park. We then divert from the Trail to do the Dutchmans Loop\, visiting the summit for superb views in all directions. We should be able to see Wilpena Pound.\n\nNOTE – If you wish to walk on only one day\, please contact the FOHT office to register for that day. The online registering system will only allow you to register for both walking days.

SUMMARY:Myponga to Mt Compass
DESCRIPTION:A lovely walk to start our second year on the trail. Starting along Yulte Rd the trail enters Yulte CP\, a small but delightful bushland park with a few testing ups and downs more than compensated by the wonderful views. After leaving the park the trail passes through picturesque farmland before crossing Hindmarsh Tiers Rd and onto Lawless Lane past the Myponga Pistol Club firing range. Entering more farmland the trail continues up to and past Mt.Cone (a short walk off the trail to the summit offers distant views over Victor Harbor to the south)before commencing the downhill road walk on Woodcone Rd to the old dairy factory.\n\nAs the bus cannot go along Yulte Rd there is a 1/2 kilometre walk from the Stephens Rd to the start of the trail.
