Description

Saturday 6th - Dutchmans Stern to Eyre Depot

We do the long day today! After leaving the cars at Dutchmans Car Park, we walk around the Stern, then head down (unexpectly) through a lovely gorgette, and after a climb or two, arrive on the western margin of the ranges. Then a traverse along a fence line to Eyre Depot.

This is a deceptively tough walk with a bit of everything - undulating firetracks with spectacular views, a rocky gorge and a gibber strewn floodplain.

Sunday 7th - Quorn to Dutchmans Stern

From the outskirts of Quorn we head north-west through fields and then pleasant foothills into the Dutchmans Stern Conservation Park. We then divert from the Trail to do the Dutchmans Loop, visiting the summit for superb views in all directions. We should be able to see Wilpena Pound.

NOTE - If you wish to walk on only one day, please contact the FOHT office to register for that day. The online registering system will only allow you to register for both walking days.
