Description

Note:

This is a 3 day walk.

On both Saturday and Sunday the End to End 5 group will divide into two groups (A and B) and walk to Curnows Hut from either the Chlorinator or Raeville in order to cover two sections of the Heysen Trail for the Warren Bonython Memorial Walk on Sunday 6 October.

SATURDAY/SUNDAY (Chlorinator to Curnows Hut)

Passing Bundaleer Reservoir and the permanently flowing Bundaleer Creek, the Trail joins the Bundaleer northern intake channel at the aqueduct. After leaving the channels at the weir it follows Never Never Creek past remnant Yacca forests and grazing land towards Bundaleer Forest.

Walk grading information has not been included for Saturday and Sunday - please consult relevant maps (1.1 - 1.5)

SATURDAY/SUNDAY (Curnows Hut to Raeville)

This is diverse walk through native scrub, Bundaleer pine forest and farmland. The ridgetops and testing climbs reward walkers with spectacular panoramic views. The Heysen Trail has been rerouted to avoid fire damage in Bundaleer Forest. See reroute on website for information http://heysentrail.asn.au/heysen_trail/re-routes.php?reroute_id=170

MONDAY (Raeville to Locks Ruin)

This walk follows dirt roads into the small town of Georgetown and beyond past Hiskeys Hut. The trail then follows undulating fencelines through Sams Hills.
