Mills Rd to Murraytown

Sat 8 to Mon 10 Jun 2013

Details

Walk name/location
Mills Rd to Murraytown
Walk grade
End-to-End 4
Description

On Saturday we head north-west to walk the ridge-top track to The Bluff, our first southern Flinders Peak. The track is a 'roller-coaster' through scrub land, with some views. Very good views from The Bluff. Recent track closures due to fires means we must descend via the TV Track to Wirrabara Forest Road and on to the Old Nursery car park.

On Sunday we return to the ridge to follow the Go-Kart Track for 8km, before descending to the east along the Sheepyard Track to the Northern Block of Wirrabara Forest. We skirt the pines to reach Block Nine Rd.

On Monday we head east towards the Main North Road, along Yellow Cutting Road. Turning north, we follow tracks and dirt roads to George St, 1km northwest from Murraytown. Rubbish Dump Road is a feature.
