Mt Lofty Heysen loop

Description

A loop walk on the Heysen Trail taking in the Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens, the winding fire tracks of Cleland Conservation Park, and the summit of Mt Lofty.

From our meeting point we walk north west on the main Heysen Trail route towards Mt Lofty. This section of the walk is a bit challenging as we climb St. Michael Hill. But the reward is an early morning tea at the Mount Lofty Summit cafe as we admire panoramic views over Piccadilly Valley and Adelaide City.

We then take the Heysen Trail alternative route to the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden upper car park.  After meandering through the garden, enjoying its tranquillity, will exit via lower car park, and return to the the meeting point.
