Description: Come along to enjoy a moderately challenging walk with spectacular scenic vantage points as we wind our way through working pine forests and areas of native flora, culminating in the Mt Pleasant summit. This walk has a variety of terrain including some ups and downs so if you have some basic bushwalking fitness, then this walk could be for you!

Walk Specifics

Start time: 8.45am for 9.00am start
End time: Approx. 12.30pm
Walking from: Cromer Picnic Trailhead, Cricks Mill Road, Mt Crawford SA 5351. Note: Some vehicle GPS systems may misdirect you so beware!
Walking to: This is a loop walk, returning to start.
Distance: 11.5kms

Risks

Hazards: Undulating tracks that may be slippery and muddy if there has been recent rains.
Requirements: Bring snacks for a morning tea break. Please wear appropriate bushwalking clothing and footwear and carry sufficient water for the conditions forecast on the day. Walking polls may be useful if you usually use them but not essential.
Experience: This walk has a variety of terrain including some ups and downs so basic bushwalking fitness is required.

Walk grade: Trail Starter

The aim of these walks is to introduce people to bushwalking, for those who are not regular walkers and those who have not walked in a group previously or who want a shorter walk. TrailStarter walks are usually close to Adelaide, have a walk time of about 3 to 4 hours and will generally be not too physically demanding. Anyone undertaking these walks may have only a modest degree of physical fitness. These walks generally occur on Saturdays or Sundays.

Appropriate Clothing

All walks are subject to you wearing appropriate clothing. Prime considerations are warmth and weather protection. Your safety and the safety of the walking group can be jeopardised by you wearing inappropriate clothing. In an emergency situation it can take hours to evacuate a sick or injured walker. Leaders may not accept people for a walk who have not come appropriately dressed or prepared.

Hot Weather Policy

If the forecast temperature for Adelaide is equal or higher than 32C, walks are cancelled. For simplicity, this can be determined the night prior to the walk from the 7.00 pm ABC News Adelaide weather forecast, based upon the Bureau of Meteorology’s routine 4pm forecast.

Your Walk Leader will send an email to all walkers advising the walk is cancelled. We suggest you check your emails before leaving to join the walk. Even if the forecast temperature is later revised, the walk remains cancelled. In such a case walk fees will be refunded.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

If unforeseen circumstances arise and you are no longer able to participate in the walk, please cancel your registration as soon as possible using the Manage Walk Registrations facility on your Account page.

Alternatively you can notify the office by 2.15pm on the last business day before the walk. Walk leaders do not have access to messages left on the answering machine after this time. If your Walk Leader has provided their mobile phone number you may be able to contact them prior to the walk (subject to phone service availability).

Memberships, walk and event registrations and Golden Boots passes are tickets. If you purchase a Golden Boots pass details of your pass purchase will be recorded. If the Golden Boots pass has expired when you register for walk events, you will be prompted to purchase another pass.
