Details

Walk name/location
Parra Wirra National Park
Walk grade
Trail Walker
Description

This is a bush-walk through very picturesque country linking the major features in the park. The scenery rivals some areas of the Flinders Ranges with its beauty, and the proximity to Adelaide is a bonus. Birds of prey and colored birds in addition to native animals can be seen in the quieter northern parts of the park.

The terrain provides a good training ground for E2E walks etc.,as the route will be undulating, incorporating some significant climbs and gentle descents. Our return to the start point will be via a more recent established track.

First time trail walkers are encouraged to participate,a strategy for group co hesion will be in place.

Most bush walkers particularly in the Flinders make a mental note of the quality and quantity of water in waterholes. But in lieu of this procedure an optional test on the ale temperature can be performed at the Blacksmiths Inn after the walk enabling further socializing with fellow participants if desired.

Please note the walk has been planned so that walkers will NOT be required to pay a park entry fee in addition to the FOHT fee.
