Description

This is a walk of about 19 kms in the Scott Creek Conservation Park. Before the arrival of the Europeans, this area was heavily forested. Loggers and miners put paid to that soon after.

The walk will start at 8.30 am and finish sometime between 2 and 3.00 pm. Almanda Silver Mine (1850 -1870), Mackereth Cottage, circa 1840, are located within the Conservation Park. In the morning, we will be walking towards the eastern boundary of the park with a gradual uphill climb of about 200 meters. By late morning, early afternoon, the western side of the park will be traversed. Throughout the day, walkers will be walking on a variety of tracks and fire trails.

This walk will be appreciated by afficionados of the hard slog.
