Description

This iconic Adelaide walk winds its way from the coast through urban landscapes, a series of recreation parks & reserves, even passing a Buddhist stupa to the highest point in the Ranges with rewarding views overlooking the city.

This is a long day and a demanding walk. A reasonable walking pace is required for the whole day. If you are unsure of walking this distance or haven’t been walking plenty of hills, best not to start here.

A bus will be used to ferry us back to cars at end of day.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU USE HAND SANITIZER PRIOR TO BOARDING AND WEAR A FACE MASK THROUGHOUT THE BUS TRIP

To participate in this walk, you need to pay for the bus whether you’re using it or not .

COVID-19 measures – you will need to adhere to social distancing at this event:

  1. I declare that if I experience any respiratory symptoms (even if mild) before the walk, I will immediately self-isolate, seek medical advice and cancel my registration for the event.
  2. When attending the walk I will:
    • observe social distancing practices
    • maintain personal hygiene (apply hand sanitiser and protect others if I cough/sneeze)
    • not share drink bottles, eating utensils, other personal items and equipment.

Road crossings & associated vehicle traffic. Rough, loose, and slippery surfaces & rocks.
Road & mountain cyclists.

Requirements

COVID-19 measures – you will need to observe social distancing at this event, ensuring no contact between participants.

This includes:

  • maintaining a 1.5 metre minimum distance between participants
  • maintaining a 4m2 minimum area per person
  • bringing and using your own supply of hand sanitise

BIOSECURITY MEASURES – please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear, clothing, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.

This is a long walk. Not one for birdwatchers or "Rose Sniffers".
Morning tea & lunch. A minimum 2ltrs water. Energy snacks or drinks to sustain you through the day. Suitable clothing and footwear for the weather forecast.
Walking poles, gaiters, rain coat, pack cover, hat, sunscreen & personal Aid Kit.
Please arrive from 7:00am on the day with adequate time for preparation, toilet and walk briefing prior to commencing walk at 7:30am.
