Description

A harder Trail Starter due to rocky undulating and slippery track.

Following the Heysen Trail we reach the rugged cliffs of the Newland Head Conservation Park where with weather permitting there is spectacular views along the coast line. Whales and dolphins have been seen from here. The rocky undulating track winds through coastal vegetation, down into valleys and back up to view the sea again.

Leaving the coast behind we walk inland with wide open views of farm land on the right and bush to the left. A sharp turn takes us into the bush where we should see many flowering wildflowers and maybe some orchids. Time will be given to enjoy this pretty area.

Leaving the bush behind we will see the sea again before arriving back at our cars.

If the weather is bad on the day the walk will not go to the coast, it will stay inland and be around 7km.
