Trail Status

Some sections of the Heysen Trail are open, and others are opening soon due to the finish of the Fire Danger Season. This is a transition time when the Fire Danger Season ends, and sections of the Trail are reopening depending on the Fire Ban District dates. Current trail status:

between Kings Beach (WSCW) and Tanunda in the Barossa Valley: The Fire Danger Season in the Mt Lofty Ranges may end on 14 May.
between Tanunda in the Barossa Valley and Wirrabara Forest: The Fire Danger Season in the Mid North ended on April 30th.
between Wirrabara Forest and Parachilna in the Flinders Ranges: The Fire Danger Season in the Flinders ended on April 30th.
