Parachilna Gorge to Mount Little Station Week 1

Walking from Parachilna Gorge Trailhead to Mount Little Station on the Heysen Trail.

Registrations for this event have been closed.

What to expect

And so the second reverse traverse of the Heysen Trail begins with 6 days walking based at Willow Springs.

All your OLD favourites will be there Simon and Julian who lead the first End to End (the Millennium Walk), Deano who led the first N-S traverse and Peter Solomon who lead the Great North Walk in 2018. Between us we have about 10 End to Ends under our boots

Of course there will be that old (young) favourite, Gavin, our bus driver, in the Rufus Bus.

We will also be joined by Morris Minus, who accompanied Minus one, and will be our mascot for this event. Who or what is Morris Minus and the role he/she or it plays will be revealed in due course.

We are going to have a great time!

Accommodation is a separate cost and we have booked Willow Springs Station for the whole group. There is also the option of tenting or using your camper or caravan.

You will be allocated accommodation after registering.

We will be walking the same pace as all previous E2E’s, so we won’t be in a rush!

Walk difficulty: End-to-End Minus 2

Starting from Parachilna Gorge and walking from the north to the southern Cape Jervis, rather than usual south to north walking direction. This second North-South traverse of the Heysen Trail begins, with three weeks walking over three years to complete the Trail in quick smart time.

These walks are for those wishing to walk some or all of the Heysen Trail. There are approximately sixty day walks involved, spread over six years. The southern walks, from Cape Jervis to Kapunda, are held on one Sunday per month during the walk season. Due to the greater travelling distances involved, from Kapunda northwards, the walk is held over a weekend.

These arrangements make it easy to walk the entire trail because the Friends of Heysen Trail work out many of the logistics.

These walks are reasonably demanding and for walkers who have walked regularly in various terrain. They have a walking time of about 5 to 6 hours and will require a high degree of physical fitness.

Refer to the End-to-End Walks page for more detailed information.
