A temporary reroute has been established affecting sections 34 to 36 east of Georgetown.
The walk sections affected are:
Section 34: Bundaleer Reservoir to Curnows Hut
Section 35: Curnows Hut to Raeville
Section 36: Raeville to Locks Ruin
Aula Energy is constructing renewable energy infrastructure along the trail east of Georgetown. Although the reroute is described as temporary, the construction is expected to last for 2-3 years
The major change to the trail is that for the duration of the construction, the trail will be approximately 18 kms shorter. Walk section 35 from Curnows Hut to Raeville cannot be hiked at all. Curnows Hut will also be closed.
