A temporary reroute has been established in Walk Section 2 – Cobbler Hill to Tapanappa to allow walkers to avoid extensive damage to the trail caused by a major bushfire in the Deep Creek National Park.
The trail between Tent Rock Road (the Trig campground) and Tapanappa has been temporarily rerouted via the Deep Creek Cove Hike because the fires burnt the infrastructure on the waterfall section of the trail.
Walkers are advised the 4.6 km long Deep Creek Cove Hike is a steep walk. The Deep Creek Cove to Tapanappa section is rated as ‘Grade 4 – Hard hike’
