Description

Our journey north through the Flinders Ranges recommences with a difficult walk on Saturday and a comfortable walk on Sunday.

The weekend will be based in Laura.

Any walker with Respiratory symptoms or fever should exclude themselves from any activity until they have received a negative COVID result, irrespective of Vaccine Status. If there is no testing available (eg Country areas) then they should consult the nearest Medical Professional available(directly or by phone). If no consult is available they should exclude themselves from activity until 3 days after symptoms have settled.

Please ENSURE that you use HAND SANITIZER prior to Boarding and wear a FACE MASK  throughout each Bus Trip over the weekend.

SATURDAY 22nd MAY

Starting from near the old Wirrabara Forest nursery the walk climbs back up to the ridgeline north of the bluff. From here the section provides a very diverse range of scenery, beginning with dense natural scrub, ridge lines and spectacular vistas of Telowie Gorge Con. Park and west towards the gulf prior to descending on a narrow track to a very pretty creek line before emerging into a walk alongside and through parts of the Forest and then a section of the Wirrabara Greenway where there are some testing short climbs.

SUNDAY 23rd MAY

The walk follows back roads and road reserves through undulating farmlands.

DINNER on Saturday night will be at the North Laura Hotel from 6.15pm.  I reserved places for up to 45 diners.

When registering for the walk please fill in the RSVP question to indicate if you will be attending. I will use that information to provide the hotel with an estimate of diners from the group that they can expect on the night.

If you wish to attend you should then contact the hotel directly to book a table and time for your meal. The group booking is for "Heysen Elevens". The phone number for the Hotel is 86632421.
