Details

Walk name/location
E2E Maintenance – Part 1
Description

This is a new opportunity to help maintain the Heysen Trail and to enjoy a different experience on the trail.

The End-to-End Maintenance program will start at Cape Jervis and work north completing the whole trail in five years. The program consists of a series of weekend camps held monthly during the walking season.

The Friends will provide a $50 per person contribution for Saturday night accommodation in a nearby location (eg cabins at Cape Jervis)and will pay for your dinner on Saturday night.

The work will involve improving signage, installing new posts, stabilising existing posts and stiles and clearing obstacles from the trail. We will be using mainly hand tools plus electric drills. So only basic handyman skills are required. However good physical fitness is required.
