Gaiters and boots with good grip will mean a more comfortable walk. Hiking poles are highly recommended.

General 'what to bring' reminders: hiking poles, lunch (and something like bubble wrap to sit on), nibbles, water, first aid kit, camera, hat, gloves and protective wet weather gear.
