Details

Walk name/location
Hermans hut site clean up. Mt Crawford
Description

Herman's hut is planned to replace Freemans hut. The objective is to clean up the site of the ruined hut, to prepare for construction.

The main task is to remove fallen stones, vegetation and earth from the interior of the ruined cottage, to allow a concrete floor slab to be poured at a later date. We also want to remove excess vegetation and fallen timber from the immediate vicinity of the cottage. This will be heavy and dirty work. We my have a Bobcat on site, but it will be unable to get into the interior of the cottage. Pleas bring any tools you have that will be useful for this type of work, including picks, shovels, spades, crowbars, sack trucks, pruning shears and saws, rakes etc.

After knockoff we will head to Willamstown oval and caravan park for some refreshments and a BBQ. Electric BBQ's are available at the oval, so bring drinks, comestibles, chairs etc if you are able to stay after the work.
