Mt Lofty Ranges Fire Danger Season Extended

The CFS announced today that the Fire Danger Season for the Mt Lofty Ranges would be extended from April 30 to May 31. No other Fire Ban Districts are affected. The Heysen Trail passes through 4 Fire Ban Districts, as detailed below (and on http://www.heysentrail.asn.au/

2. Adelaide Metropolitan – 30 April (no change)
3. Mid North – 30 April (no change)
4. Flinders – 15 April (no change – Heysen Trail section there is now open)

Logbooks Now Available

The logbooks that have been listed in the website shop as Coming Soon have been delivered and are now available.

The logbook comes in two parts, this Southern Logbook, and also a Northern Logbook, providing an easy way to log your progress, make notes, keep a diary or keep a record of photos. It is structured to complement the official Southern Guide, you will note similarities enabling easy reference between the logbook and the guide book. The aim is for you to refer to the guide book for navigation and information, and record the journey in the logbook, as you complete various Trail sections. Price: AU $14.90

Opening of the Walk Season

At Beaumont House, Burnside (in the grounds of Beaumont House, Glynburn Road – near corner Dashwood Road).

Official Opening at 1.00pm and featuring walks on the Pioneer Womenâs Trail.

Displays include walking areas, gear and clubs.

Come ânâ Try walking, short guided walks available from 10.30 am to 2.00pm.

Friends of Onkaparinga are organising tea/coffee and sausage sizzle.
