Facilities
Campsite, toilets, water
1/3 tank full at entrance, didn’t check the tank at the loo though.
Water Tank Half full 3/08/21.
17.4.21 Water Tank around 50% full. A spread out messy riverbed site with car campers. Better if you have the energy to walk on about 2km to the great Middlesight Walkers Hut if heading south!
Passed here on 16/9/2019. The water tank on the Visitor shelter is empty. The water tank attached to Toilet block is about 25-30% full. (5 rungs). Hikers to note their is a reroute sign in place between trezona and middlesight hut but no explaination why – perhaps an eagle nest. adds another 600m to the distance.
E2E9 passed through last week – I would put the water level at only two rungs remaining.
Paused here on 14th July ’19 on way to Aroona Campground. Plenty of water, drop toilets and level ground to camp if required. A few caravaners or campers present to yarn to if you want to or even be invited to join their fire.
I passed through pm of 28/8/15.
$8 fee+ park pass again. Pay here for next two huts as well. Lot of vehicle campers when I passed through.
Whoops, 22nd.
I passed this campsite on April 21st with Rover Scouts during the sixth day of hiking from where the trail crosses the Hawker-Parachilna Road to the Parachilna Gorge trailhead (7 days/125ish km.)
There was half full water tank at an information board called the "Trezona Trailhead" (actually on the Heysen Trail.) There may be more water tanks further inside the campground.
