Lovely spot. Half a tank of water.
FOHT Trail Development team visited the hut on 12/4/2022. Water level in the tank was aprox 90%.
Walked past on Mon 5/7/21 and water tank roughly 2/3 full
FoHT End to End -2 group visited this site on 10/5/21. Tank water level 50%.
17.4.21 Water tank about 50%. Good water, great hut including a welcome platform table.
Walker reported that the tank is full.
Passed Middlesight hut 16/9/2019. Our group of 5 considered this water tank to be about about 40% full. Water was clear and tasted fine. A good hut if you plan to sleep inside, but there are only 1 or two decent level campsites for tents. Hikers to note their is a reroute sign in place between trezona and middlesight hut but no explaination why – perhaps an eagle nest. This adds another 600m to the distance.
Walker reported that water tank is at 70%.
Was a hot walk from Aroona and the wind was up. Glad to take a stop. Water was delicious and tank seemed half full. We didn’t bother treating it and the 7 of us aren’t dead yet ?
14 August 2019. Water smells and tastes good, however I recommend treating water before consuming. Tank is at approximately 35% capacity.
Well done Wayne. Updates appreciated
Paused here for ‘morning smoke-o’ on 14th July ’19 on way to Aroona Campground. Nice and comfortable little hut that has bunk beds but non usable fireplace like Yanyanna Hut. Plenty of water in tank that is drinkable.
Lovely hut, warm inside as brick. Tank 3/4 full on 29/8/15. Reroute from Trezona in place due to eagle’s nest.
Good sized water tank here, was about 3/4 full on 24/5/15. No fires allowed inside according to signs. If you’re tall the bunks will be a bit short. Good spots for tents.
er, 22nd.
I passed by this hut on April 21st with Rover Scouts during the sixth day of hiking from where the trail crosses the Hawker-Parachilna Road to the Parachilna Gorge trailhead (7 days/125ish km.)
The water tanks was 2/3 full.
There are bunks inside for 4 people.
The "fireplace" is actually taken up by a wood stove of some sort (ie. not so suitable for sitting around the fire having a chat.) There is a large fire circle outside.
The fee paid by bushwalkers to use this hut is $5 per person per night. That does not include park entry for your car.
