    • Chrissy,
Essentially you need to park on the road and carry your gear to the hut. There is no vehicle access.

  1. Nice to see the hand rails replaced, swept it out when I was there ( I’m a crystal Brook local so try to get out there and check on it when I can sadly it had been a while)

  2. Stayed here on 15th May ’18. Plenty of water and the bunks had mattresses-what a bonus. Thanks to those who maintain this hut. No mice were seen.

  3. Stayed here 6/5/15. Tank had very little water. Seems to leaking about base and looks like some holes in side have been siliconed up. Hut is real nice, Lock on door prob helps this, see combo in description. If you want to camp there is a great flat area across creek from hut or head along to Bowmans park, water, toilet, shelter only a few mins walk. Hut was quite clean.

  4. Hut was locked and we didn’t have the combination. The campsite at the oval was very good, water and toilet and a shelter. Ideal for hikers.

  5. I stayed at the hut in September 2010. Although the hut was open when I arrived, I figured from comments in the log book that the hut used to be looked. You have to get the keep from the Crystal Brook City council.

I don’t know whether the hut is generally open now or whether I had been just very lucky.
