Trail Status

Some sections of the Heysen Trail are open, and others are closed due to the commencement of the Fire Danger Season. This is a transition time when the Fire Danger Season starts, and sections of the Trail are closing depending on the Fire Ban District dates. Current trail status:

between Kings Beach (WSCW) and Tanunda in the Barossa Valley: The Fire Danger Season in the Mt Lofty Ranges will start on 1st December.
between Tanunda in the Barossa Valley and Wirrabara Forest: The Fire Danger Season in the Mid North started on November 1st.
between Wirrabara Forest and Parachilna in the Flinders Ranges: The Fire Danger Season in the Flinders started on November 1st.
