April 2016: Freemans Hut on the Heysen Trail near Mt Crawford has been closed due to a land sale, and the trail re-routed to continue north along the Wirra Wirra Peaks ridge line.
That’s sad about the loss of this hut to the community. Was a great hut. Used it many times and recommended it many too, especially with groups of youth in Scouts.

This was a great hut, I’ve stayed 3 times with my kids – but I hear this hut is no longer available?

I would like to find the landowner so I can have a look as I have never had the opportunity to get there
Stayed the night of 11/10/15. Lovely spot. All in good order. Plenty of water in tank.
